A Little History
biography

With over 30 years’ experience in the Arts & Entertainment Industry Dee Edmonds obtained a broad and expert skillset across a variety of disciplines and genres with an emphasis on cost effectiveness while maintaining high quality creativity.

Originally from a creative background in theatre costume and props she has a strong editorial understanding allowing her to work collaboratively and pro-actively in order to effectively maintain a balance between creative aspirations and budgetary reality to produce successful results for the business.
Dee has been involved and responsible for high level decision making with the many small companies she has worked with. In her role as HoP (and previously as PM) Dee worked closely with Indies, to establish the most appropriate and financially sensible way to organise and manage their business, production practice and policy.

Building successful working relationships with broadcaster BA departments and distributors.

Effectively streamlining of Business Affairs, Administration & Production.

Successfully navigating and driving the covid pandemic response and beyond within companies Dee was working with.
​
Skilful negotiation of budgets, contracts and uplift costs providing for better resourced projects. This included pursuing a commission which had hit a brick wall with editorial, by assessing the barrier, re-negotiating budget and suggesting editorial modifications Dee secured greenlight on the project.
​
Working with M.D.’s to foster a collaborative work environment allowing people to feel supported and advance their career and providing mentorship to junior team members.
Creating a short training programme for TRC’s Factual Fast Track covering Consent & Privacy and Copyright & Legal Review. Dee also delivered a short Business Affairs Basics Course for TRC, which give an introduction to all the elements involved on the Production Management and Business Affairs side of content creation, highlighting the key pitfalls of compliance.
